‘Lavender Furrows’

Provence, France

Who hasn’t wanted to visit the lavender fields in Provence in late June/early July ? This is the optimum time to photograph the fields when the lavender is in full bloom and about to be harvested. I had the privilege to visit the area at this time in 2018. So had lots of other people ! The area is really busy especially during the day when parents and children, couples, brides and grooms, families and would be models all go there to be photographed amongst the lavender. It’s quite a sight - furrows stretching far into the distance, the intoxicating scent of lavender and lots of bees. An absolutely stunning vista but I preferred to be there at dawn when there were fewer people around and I wasn’t distracted by the buzzing of drones overhead !
